Our journey so far...
Just over 15 years ago, CID Group embarked on a journey to make life easier for our customers in the Civil Engineering, Utilities, and Construction sectors.
Explore our journey below...(Pre-2008)
The original Family business was involved in the sale of a range of diamond blades through merchants and hire-shops. Prior to this the founder was himself on the tools, running a small construction firm in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
2008
CID was born. The ‘Soulsby Brothers' set about developing the product range by adding Tools, PPE, and Traffic Management products, and supplying directly to local contractors from a small unit in Stanningley, Leeds.

2010
Further products were added to the range, including a range of light equipment.
CID also began to expand its presence further across the UK.
2012
Moved into a new warehouse in Horsforth, Leeds, to facilitate rapid growth.
Opened CID's first ‘trade point’ in Leeds.

2014
Launched the Solo cut-off saw into the UK market.
Launched own range of PPE.
Established a southern ‘trade point’ in Watford.
2016
Moved into a new larger 3-acre central distribution centre and HQ, near A1, M1, and M62.

2017
Invested in embroidery, heat seal, and sign printing equipment and brought these processes in-house to facilitate enhanced service levels.
2018
Launched revolutionary 10-4-10 same-day delivery service and invested in a large expansion of our own-vehicle delivery fleet.

2019
Launched the innovative T-Matting product and Safestack pedestrian barrier.
2020
Stayed true to our core during the Covid pandemic and remained focused on keeping the civil engineering sector supply chain running smoothly, whilst also supporting a number of front-line industries.

2021
Added reinstatement materials to the range and began stockholding large volumes of temporary fencing products.
Established Scotland office in Falkirk.
2022
Agreed acquisition of Strathallan Safety Supplies and further expanded into Scotland.
FORS accreditation gained.

2023
Agreed acquisition of Mount Machinery.
Moved into new 81,000 sqft central distribution centre in Leeds.
Established operation in Ireland.

2024
Acquired Scotland based Diatech - a leading UK supplier of specialist diamond blades, core drills and grinding cups, bolstering CID Group's heritage in supplying market-leading diamond blades to the Civil Engineering & Utilities industries.
